Navigator leaves Dunstons
The Inland Navigator has now left Dunstons Shipyard in Hull following completion of a £500,000 re-fit which included strengthening work. The Inland Navigator, originally designed to reach Nottingham on the river Trent, is also capable of penetrating as far inland as Leeds, Nottingham, Rotherham, Worcester, Slough and York – locations not previously thought accessible by inland barges carrying large and heavy abnormal loads. The Inland Navigator will work in tandem with the Terra Marique, maximising the use of UK inland waterways for the transport of abnormal loads.
