Last time she carried the GBOAA Concorde, yesterday, saw Eccleshall based Robert Wynn & Son's Terra Marique return to the River Thames to take part in Eurostar's 10th anniversary celebrations. The 80 metre long vessel was used as a floating platform to display a specially commissioned Eurostar power-car. Turner nominated artists Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell have transformed the power car in to a unique piece of artwork. Terra Marique brought the power car up the Thames amidst great media and public attention.

Navigating the Thames with such a large vessel is no simple task. However, Robert Wynn & Sons engineers working with the Port of London Authority put together a schedule which allowed the Eurostar to be viewed passing under the raised Tower Bridge, where thousands of yellow and white balloons were released, and then continuing upstream to moor along side HMS Belfast.

The Terra Marique with the Eurostar power train sat on her hydraulic roadways some 6 metres above the water will remain moored alongside HMS Belfast until lunchtime today when she will commence her return journey to the Port of Tilbury.
